Seminar on
‘Risk and Return in Small and Mid-Cap Funds’
19 August, 2013 from 5.30 to 7.00 pm
Dear Members,
The Indian Merchants’ Chamber has organised a seminar on ‘Risk and Return in Small & Mid-Cap Funds’ on 19August, 2013 from 5.30 pm to 7.00 pm at Walchand Hirachand Hall, 4th floor, IMC.
Most of the risk-averse investors allocate their money in large capitalized funds to avoid huge volatility and uncertainty. The large cap funds invest money in large blue chip companies which carries low risk, low return and low volatility compared to mid and small cap funds. However the disadvantage of large cap companies is that the growth is very limited compared to small and mid cap companies.
On the other side small and mid companies are highly volatile and risky. However small and mid cap companies has huge potential for growth and expansion due to its lower base. Mostly it is experienced that small- and mid-cap funds outperform large-cap peers in a bull market. While in bear market small- and mid-cap funds tend to underperform.
Hence this seminar is to understand risk and return involved in small and mid-cap funds investments. Speakers for the seminar are Mr. Arun Kejriwal, Founder of Kejriwal Research & Information Services (KRIS), Mr. Vikaas M Sachdeva, Chief Executive Officer, Edelweiss Asset Management Ltd and Mr. Viral Berawala, Chief Investment Officer, Reliance Life Insurance Ltd.
