Reliance Infrastructure Limited, Reliance Natural Resources Limited, Anil Ambani and four other directors of the above companies have agreed to a consent order and paid India’s highest fine of Rs 50 crores. Till date no other company has paid a sum anywhere near the same and the first major fine was paid by DLF which was Rs 1 crore. Sometime last year there was a penalty on Gujarat NRE of double that amount and now this is fifty times the amount paid by DLF.
